Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced 26146 vacancies for Recruitment in Constable (General Duty) post in Assam Rifles. The vacancies are intimated by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). SSC will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (GD) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty). The examination will consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination. After passing all the phases of this examination candidates have to do Document Verification at stipulated time provided by the examination board to be selected in the mentioned post.

Application for Assam Rifles Examination is being accepted in Online mode only. Application can be done from SSC's official website within 24/11/2023 to 31/12/2023 (23:00).


  • Admit card for all stages of examination will not be sent by post, i.e. candidates have to download their admit card for Assam Rifles Examination 2024 through online. Facility for download of Admit Cards will be provided at the websites of Regional Offices of the Commission as well as the website of CRPF i.e. https://crpf.gov.in .
  • Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted in English, Hindi and also 13 Regional Languages including- (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu, and (xiii) Urdu i.e. in total 15 languages.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME) will be scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs.
  • Document Verification will be carried out at the time of Detailed Medical Examination (DME) by the CAPFs.
  • Vacancies of Constable (GD) in SSF will be filled on All India basis, but vacancies in all other CAPFs will be filled as per the vacancies available in various States/UTs. [Vacancies are earmarked for the Border Guarding Districts and Militancy/Naxal affected districts which are reserved for the candidates of these districts only.]

3. Eligibility Criteria:

(i) Nationality: Candidate must be citizen of India (i.e. Indian).

(ii) Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University.

       Note: Candidates having ‘NCC Certificate’ will get Bonus Marks as below-

Benefit of Bonus marks will only be provided to the candidates who opt for bonus marks/incentive for ‘NCC certificate’ in online application. This benefit is not available for Ex-servicemen (According to Notification provided by SSC in Official website).

(iii) Age Limit: 18-23 years as on 01/01/2024. Candidate should not have born earlier than 02/01/2001 and later than 01/01/2006 in normal course. Relaxation in upper age limit is as per government rules (as below).

(i) Recent scanned clear passport size color photograph in JPEG format; Size: 20 kb to 50 kb; Dimension: 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). Photograph should be without cap, spectacles and both ears should be visible.

(ii) Scanned legible signature in JPEG format; Size: 10 kb to 20 kb; Dimension: 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).

(iii) ID proof (for ID number): Aadhaar Card (for Aadhaar number)/ Voter ID Card/ PAN/ Passport/ Driving License/ School or College ID/ Employee ID (Govt./PSU/Private).

(iv) Certificates regarding educational qualification (for data of passing year, roll number, percentage/CGPA, etc.).

(v) Category Certificate (Applicable for Reserved categories).

(iv) Fill mandatory details, Upload required documents, fill Captcha code, verify details, submit.
